Parks: Jessup-Provinces Park is a great destination for hiking and road-biking, and even sledding in the winter. Meade Village Park offers baseball and softball fields, basketball courts and a playground. Harmans Park has several hiking and jogging trails, as well as a picnic area and basketball and tennis courts.

 

Airports: Baltimore Washington International Airport is the most convenient airport in the area and is only ten miles away.

 

Child Care: Kidz Ink is an academy of Early Academics Child Care Center located in nearby Odenton.

 

Elementary Schools: Hebron-Harman Elementary School in Hanover is a “Maryland Green School” where interactive technology encourages student knowledge. Seven Oaks Elementary School is located in Perry Hall in the Northeast section of Baltimore County. Seven Oaks places an emphasis on environmental issues and the use of technology to assist in meeting the state and county curriculum goals.

 

Middle Schools: Meade Middle School serves grades 6-8 in the Anne Arundel County Public School System.

 

High Schools: Meade High School is a public high school for grades 9-12 located at Fort Meade and is part of Anne Arundel County Public Schools. Meade High School’s academic programs include: International Baccalaureate, Homeland Security, Avid, 9th and 10th grade Academies, Project Lead the Way, and Advanced Placement. Arundel High School is a public high school located in Gambrills in Anne Arundel County.

 

Colleges/Universities: Anne Arundel Community College was founded in 1961 and is located in Arnold, Maryland. The college was named "Community College of the Year" by the National Business Alliance in 2000. AACC offers a full range of degrees, certificates, continuing education, and distance learning.

 

Restaurants: Duclaw Brewing Company, located in the Arundel Mills Mall, was voted the #1 craft brewery in Maryland by ratebeer.com. Timbuktu Restaurant a seafood restaurant and lounge serving seafood, steaks, chicken, crab cakes, Italian, and Greek food in Hanover. Dave & Busters is a fun restaurant, bar and game venue. Also nearby are: Chili's Grill & Bar, TGI Friday's, Chipotle Mexican Grill, Red Lobster, Long Horn Steakhouse and Olive Garden.

 

Sports Venues: Oriole Park at Camden Yards is a beautiful, baseball-only facility located about 20 miles away in downtown Baltimore, which became the official home of the Orioles on April 6, 1992. M&T Bank Stadium is located at the south point of Camden Yards and is home to the NFL Ravens.

 

Shopping: Shopping is what Arundel Mills is known for and the Arundel Mills Mall it the reason why. It features more than 200 stores as well as fast food dining options and restaurants. Other popular shopping destinations in the area include: Bed Bath & Beyond, Banana Republic, Nordstrom, Macy's, The Mall in Columbia, CVS Pharmacy, Trader Joes, Target, WalMart, and Best Buy.

 

Museums: Fort George G Meade Museum was established to collect, preserve, study and exhibit historical artifacts pertaining to the history of Fort George G. Meade. The Museum is dedicated "in proud memory of those members of the United States Army who died in the defense of Freedom". There are also several, well-known museums to visit in nearby Baltimore, Annapolis, and Washington, DC.

 

Entertainment: Cinemark Egyptian 24 is a fun, Egyptian-themed movie theater in the Arundel Mills Mall. Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament, also located in the Arundel Mills Mall, is a family dinner theater featuring staged medieval-style games, sword-fighting, and jousting performed by a cast of actors and horses.

 

Recreation: Greenway Bowl Odenton and Arundel Golf Park offer two great destinations for family fun in the Ft. Meade/Arundel Mills region.
